Honoring a Hero

The Story Behind Our Name

Szabo Health Care is named in honour of one of our loved team members whose life was tragically taken while saving 2 young children’s lives.

Alex John Szabo, selfless act of bravery continues to inspire our mission. On January 27, 2002, Alex tragically lost his life while saving two young children from a dangerous current on the Gold Coast. He was 42 years old and deeply loved by all who knew him.
Following his passing, Szabo Pty Ltd was established in 2003 with a commitment to ensure his legacy would endure.

After years of planning, Szabo Pty Ltd became our beacon. Our foundation for delivering high physical support housing under the NDIS in 2018.
Today, Szabo Health Care Group, with its broader ecosystem, continues this mission — providing high-quality, dignified care while honouring a legacy built on courage, compassion, and service.
